Milad un Nabi 2026

Milad un Nabi is celebrated all over the world in remembrance of Prophet Muhammad’s birth and celebrate his teachings. The birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad is generally observed by shia muslims as well as subcontinental Muslims in most Muslim-majority countries of the world. They gather together to remember, discuss and celebrate the advent of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth and his teachings. The shi’a community follow the system of celebrating this event on the 17th of Rabi’ al-awwal. Most of the Sunni Muslims used to celebrate this event on the 12th of the Islamic month of Rabi’ al-awwal. They send Milad-un-Nabi e-cards to their friends and family relations around the world. They do prayers in homes, mosques and other buildings. They serve communal meals in mosques and other community buildings. They conduct marches, parades and meetings to spread the stories and poems of Mohammad’s life, deeds and teachings. The people used to wear green ribbons or items of clothing and carry green flags or banners when taking part in these events. They are very particular about green color to represent Islam and paradise.
